:: Results of the Previous AtyrauBuild 2008
On 23-25 April, Atyrau successfully hosted the 7th North Caspian Regional Exhibition of Construction and Interiors, Heating and Ventilation, Windows and Doors, Façades – AtyrauBuild 2008. The total exhibition area was 2,800 sq. m.

AtyrauBuild 2008 presented 180 direct and indirect exhibitors, which is 20% more than in 2007. Exhibiting companies came from Azerbaijan, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Domestic exhibitors included companies from Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, Aktau, Aktobe, and Uralsk. During its three days, the exhibition was attended by 3,413 professional visitors.

  • 45% of exhibitors signed contracts during the exhibition;
  • 91% of exhibitors noted that the visitors’ specialisation met their expectations;
  • 54% of exhibitors said in their questionnaires that their stand was attended by 10 to 50 specialists per day, and 41% – 50 to 100 specialists. Notably, 5% of exhibitors told about their products and services to more than 100 specialists per day;

  • Direct delivery of 15,000 invitations using a special database for the regions of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Russia and other countries;
  • Extensive Internet advertising on leading international, regional and national sites;
  • Advertising in more than 20 leading mass media of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Russia, and other international media;
  • Advertising on the national radio and TV, advertising boards, banners and posters;
  • Exhibition coverage and promotion at leading international and regional industrial exhibitions, national forums, workshops, and other special events;
  • Publication of articles and press releases in leading specialised and political mass media in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Russia.

:: Development of the Construction Industry in Atyrau Oblast
  • Reconstruction of the roads in Western Kazakhstan is underway, while that of the Uralsk-Atyrau is being planned. Also, construction of the bridge from Balykshi to Zhumysker is going on, with the total funding of more than USD 2 million;
  • The lack of housing resulted in a programme on financing the housing construction via mortgage. The cost of 1 sq. m of housing in Atyrau is USD 400-500;
  • Investment in installation of gas service for domestic use in the Oblast makes up USD 6.9 million;
  • A USD 34 million transfer was provided from the national budget for construction of the drainage system;
  • Construction of the Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipeline has begun; the pipeline is the initial stage of construction of the international oil mainline from Western Kazakhstan to Western China. The pipeline will also help oil companies in Aktyubinsk Oblast reach out to the world oil markets via Atyrau-Samara and CPC;
  • Reconstruction and renovations of the Oblast’s major administrative facilities are underway (theatres, museums, roads, suburban recreation areas, etc.). A new building for the oblast hospital has been completed in Atyrau.
